Position Overview

As the Managing Director of Umami Marketing, you’ll take the lead in shaping our future growth, driving strategic initiatives, and managing client relationships. This role demands a balance of visionary leadership, marketing acumen, and operational oversight. You’ll be responsible for leading a talented team, developing innovative inbound marketing strategies, and overseeing digital transformation projects that push our clients’ businesses forward. Your focus will be on delivering measurable success and helping our clients navigate their journey to digital excellence.

Key Responsibilities

1. Leadership & Team Empowerment

  • Lead, mentor, and inspire a high-performing team of marketers, strategists, and digital specialists.
  • Foster a collaborative and creative environment that encourages innovation and personal growth.
  • Provide direction and support for team members, helping them develop their skills and excel in their roles.
  • Oversee resource management to ensure projects are completed on time, on budget, and exceed expectations.

2. Client Relationships & Strategy

  • Serve as the primary contact for high-profile clients, maintaining strong relationships and ensuring their goals are met.
  • Lead client onboarding, ensuring clarity on project goals, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Present inbound marketing and digital transformation strategies to clients, ensuring alignment with their broader business objectives.
  • Actively manage client feedback and maintain long-term partnerships by delivering value and results.
  • Regularly analyze campaign performance and adapt strategies to maximize success.

3. Growth & Innovation

  • Develop and execute Umami Marketing’s long-term growth strategy, focusing on both inbound marketing and digital transformation services.
  • Lead business development efforts by enhancing the sales funnel and participating in RFPs to attract new clients.
  • Collaborate with the team to deliver innovative campaigns and transformative solutions that meet client needs and set us apart in the market.
  • Stay ahead of industry trends in inbound marketing, automation, and digital transformation to keep Umami at the forefront of innovation.

4. Inbound Marketing & Digital Transformation Expertise

  • Lead the development of comprehensive inbound marketing campaigns, combining SEO, content marketing, lead nurturing, and data analytics to drive measurable growth.
  • Oversee digital transformation initiatives that help clients leverage technology, streamline operations, and enhance the customer experience.
  • Ensure that all client deliverables reflect Umami Marketing’s commitment to creativity, quality, and results.
  • Provide strategic guidance on using technology and automation to enhance marketing effectiveness and business processes.

5. Operational Excellence

  • Oversee the daily operations of the agency, ensuring efficient workflows and top-tier client servicing.
  • Manage budgets, resource allocation, and project profitability to ensure the agency runs smoothly and profitably.
  • Continuously assess and improve internal processes to enhance efficiency, quality, and client satisfaction.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Proven Experience: 5-10 years of experience in marketing or digital transformation, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Leadership Skills: Strong ability to lead and inspire cross-functional teams in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
  • Client Management: Exceptional client-facing skills, with experience managing relationships at an executive level.
  • Marketing & Digital Expertise: Deep knowledge of inbound marketing strategies, digital transformation tools, and marketing automation.
  • Strategic Thinking: A data-driven approach to developing and executing marketing strategies that drive results.
  • Operational Acumen: Experience in managing budgets, resources, and operational processes for efficiency and growth.

Victoria has worked in entrepreneurial roles in the Vancouver, LA, and Thailand tech community and has traveled and worked with businesses internationally.
